Envoy of Friendship
In diplomatic activities, cultural and art exchanges, seminars, and talks to connect trade partners to celebrate 50 years of diplomatic relations and 10 years of strategic partnership between Vietnam - Singapore held in Vietnam in 2023, participants show interest in a logo with Vietnamese lotus and Singaporean orchid. The logo was also printed out on large-sized panels or worn as a lapel pin by the Singaporean Ambassador to Vietnam Jaya Ratnam.
In an interview with VietnamTimes, Le Thanh Hong said she was delighted and surprised to know that she won the first prize in the contest, which was launched in October 2022 by the Vietnamese Student Association in Singapore in collaboration with the Singapore Global Network, under the patronage of the Vietnamese Embassy to Singapore, the Singapore Embassy to Vietnam, Viet Nam Union of Friendship Organizations and Vietnam - Singapore Friendship Association.

It took Hong a long time to complete the logo, party because she was in an "exam season." During the process, Hong struggled to balance the aesthetics and seriousness of an important event logo.
The logo aims to honor Vietnam-Singapore relations. It focuses on the ink pen, symbolizing the singing between the two countries. The lotus has a special place in the life and culture of the Vietnamese people, embodying the personality and temperament of a decent man. The Vanda Miss Joaquim (orchid), Singapore's national flower, represents a unique combination of Singaporean culture and relentless endeavor. Vanda Miss Joaquim is a symbol of the desire, and aspiration to rise and progress of Singapore.
"Through this logo, I want to express the friendship and diplomatic cooperation between Vietnam and Singapore. The logo honors the relationship through the typical elements of each country, winged by lotus and Vanda flowers. Miss Joaquim Each flower carries a profound message about the nature and soul of the two nations and connects them in development and progress.
"The colors used in the logo also represent the combination of the two countries. Pink and purple are lotus and Vanda Miss Joaquim. I also used red, white, and yellow from the flags of both countries to create the background and pattern", said Le Thanh Hong, who was happy that she could contribute to Vietnam-Singapore relations.
Connect friendship through practical activities
Hong goes to Singapore to study because she appreciates the similarities in Vietnamese and Singaporean culture.
"When I first arrived, I quickly integrated into the environment here. Everyone is friendly and kind. I received help from my teachers, friends and Vietnamese aunts and uncles living and working in Singapore. Singapore's learning environment and curriculum are exciting and practical. As a connecting hub in the Asia Pacific region, Singapore attracts many big companies to build their headquarters. Therefore, graduates can find an abundance of attractive job opportunities here."

In 2020, Hong and her friends cooperated with the National Youth Council of Singapore to implement a program named "Let's Learn Vietnamese! - Tieng Viet Oi." Under the program, lessons were held to introduce international friends to the Vietnamese language and unique culture.
She helps organize the annual "Dream of Studying Abroad" event, which includes online information sessions between representatives of schools in Singapore to answer questions from Vietnamese students and parents about preparing and submitting applications for study abroad.
Hong said she would continue to strengthen the friendship between the two peoples by participating in extracurricular activities, cultural exchange events, and sharing knowledge about her homeland and Vietnamese culture in Singapore.
