Ample room remains for Viet Nam-Armenia cooperation: Deputy PM

The two Deputy PMs focused on discussing several measures to promote bilateral relations, such as improving transportation connections and multi-modal transport to facilitate the movement of goods between the two countries and to Asian, European, and global markets.

Viet Nam and Armenia have significant potential to promote their traditional friendship and mutually beneficial cooperation in different areas, Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha affirmed on April 2.

Holding talks with his Armenian counterpart Mher Grigoryan in Yerevan within the framework of Vietnamese National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man’s official visit to the West Asian nation, Ha stated that to achieve double-digit growth in the coming time, Viet Nam needs to make significant efforts, including expanding and promoting relations with other countries, including Armenia.

Recognising Armenia's strengths in agriculture, agricultural processing, and food industry, he said that the two countries can export goods to each other's markets without competition, and expand cooperation into new promising areas such as digital transformation, new technologies, artificial intelligence (AI), renewable energy, and clean energy.

Agreeing with Ha’s ideas, Grigoryan said that Armenia’s relevant agencies are ready to work with Viet Nam to address challenges and promote bilateral relations.

Due to the geographical distance between the two countries, there is a greater need for efforts to strengthen transportation connections, including measures to reduce transportation costs so that goods can penetrate each other's markets and the broader region, he stressed.

The two Deputy PMs focused on discussing several measures to promote bilateral relations, such as improving transportation connections and multi-modal transport to facilitate the movement of goods between the two countries and to Asian, European, and global markets. They also considered visa policies to facilitate the travel of citizens of both countries.

To further enhance economic and trade relations, they agreed on the need to establish an Intergovernmental Committee as soon as possible to quickly address issues arising in the bilateral economic and trade relations.

As there is significant potential for cooperation in tourism and education, the two Deputy PMs stressed the importance of establishing direct flight routes between the two countries, granting visa exemptions for citizens and businesses, simplifying procedures, and signing a cooperation agreement in the field of education and training./.
