The Central Highlands province of Dak Lak and Nevers city of France’s Nièvre province expressed their hope to set up friendship and collaboration in the fields of cultural exchange, IT development and digital transformation, urban planning, healthcare professional development, and high-technology agricultural production under a Memorandum of Understanding signed between the two sides in Paris on December 10.

A separate healthcare agreement was also inked between the Dak Lak provincial Department of Health and Nevers hospital, focusing on medical knowledge sharing, including specialised training in cardiovascular, oncological, and dialysis treatment.

At the event, Chairman of the Dak Lak provincial People’s Committee Pham Ngoc Nghi briefed participants on the locality’s strengths and target to become a socio-economic hub in the Central Highlands by 2030, stressing that Dak Lak has been keen on expanding collaboration with Nevers in the areas of economy, manufacturing industry, renewable energy, food and environment.

He stated that the bilateral cooperation will make contributions to developing the Viet Nam – France Comprehensive Strategic Partnership in a more substantive and effective manner.

Mayor of Nevers city Denis Thuriot commended Viet Nam’s comprehensive development, highlighting potential collaboration through French companies in Nièvre province in the domains of automotive industries, metallurgy, and agriculture. He told the Viet Nam News Agency (VNA)'s resident reporter that the two sides could promote professional exchanges like internship programmes and specialised training.

While staying in France, Nghi and a delegation from Dak Lak province visited prominent French educational institutions, including the Institute of Automotive and Transport Engineering (ISAT) in Nevers and the Inkub Agora Business startup support centre, which play crucial roles in mechanical engineering and digital innovation in Nièvre province in the Bourgogne-Franche-Comté region./.
