Vietnamese Ambassador to Egypt Nguyen Huy Dung recently had a meeting with the General Secretary of the Egyptian Communist Party Salah Adly at the headquarters of the Vietnamese Embassy in Egypt.
At the meeting, Salah Adly expressed his admiration for Vietnam's impressive socio-economic developments.
Salah Adly said that the Communist Party of Egypt and the Egyptian people are always interested in Vietnam's innovation policy and experience in the fields of politics, economics, society, Party building, and personnel training.

For his part, Ambassador Nguyen Huy Dung reaffirmed that Vietnam values and appreciates Egypt's role in the region as well as at the United Nations and the Non-Aligned Movement.
At the meeting, Ambassador Nguyen Huy Dung presented Salah Adly with the English and French versions of the book "Some Theoretical and Practical Issues on Socialism and the path towards socialism in Vietnam” by General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong.
Salah Adly expressed his emotion at the precious gift from the Vietnamese side and said he would convey the contents of the book to members of the Egyptian Communist Party.
Egypt was one of the first countries in the African region and also one of the first Arab countries to establish diplomatic relations with the Democratic Republic of Vietnam in the 1960s. Since the establishment of their diplomatic relations on September 1, 1963, the two countries have enjoyed a thriving partnership across various fields.
To date, Vietnam and Egypt have signed approximately 35 agreements and memoranda of understanding. The annual two-way trade volume has exceeded USD 500 million, and both countries are committed to increasing it to over USD 1 billion.
