Nearly 100 Vietnamese and Vietnamese-origin people from 20 countries gathered at the Viet Nam Global Leaders Forum (VGLF 2024) held in Paris on March 30-31, VNA reported.
They are outstanding doctors and experts in science, economy, social affairs, environment, arts and religion.
The forum is the convergence of knowledge, spirit, energy and the quintessence of the Vietnamese culture, said Professor, Dr. Nguyen Duc Khuong, director of international development research at IPAG Business School (France) and President of the Association of Vietnamese Scientists and Experts in France (AVSE Global) – the organizer of VGLF 2024.
Amidst evolving, unpredictable international environment, Viet Nam needs to seek its own path towards sustainability, equality and prosperity, he said, adding that the forum offers an opportunity for Vietnamese-origin individuals to compare notes on how to help Viet Nam “thrive in change.”

Speaking virtually at the forum, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Le Thi Thu Hang highly appreciated creating opportunities for Vietnamese people with outstanding activities in the world to show their enthusiasm for the country's current issues. .
Vietnamese Ambassador to France Dinh Toan Thang affirmed that the State always consider overseas Vietnamese (OVs) an integral part of the nation, as reflected through the roll-out of various legal corridors and policy tools to facilitate their engagement in national development.
For his part, Nguyen Duc Khuong, Chairman of the Paris-based Association of Vietnamese Scientists and Experts (AVSE Global), said that Viet Nam currently has a very talented force of intellectual experts, scientists and businessmen. are living and working at home and abroad.
"We want to connect, share aspirations and propose action programs to contribute to building a sustainable and prosperous future for Viet Nam," Khuong emphasized.
With the theme of "Viet Nam thriving in change", the forum focused on three key inquiries - the means to unite resources to awaken national potential and facilitate growth, how to enhance Viet Nam's global standing, and how to harness and utilize the keys to success for breakthrough.
VGLF 2024 also brought culture and heritage together with the participation of the brightest minds from more than 15 different countries around the world. It was also a rare and great opportunity to immerse Vietnamese contemporary art, national culture and special cuisine in the topical issues.

Some participants told VNA that national construction requires strong human resources, stressing the need to grow a pool of talents, and provide policy support for them.
The AVSE Global, whose predecessor was the Association of Vietnamese Scientists and Experts in France, was established in Paris in 2011 with a view to connecting overseas Vietnamese scientists and experts to capitalize on their potential.
Relying on over 300 permanent members in more than 20 countries regularly working on strategic projects and collaborating with 2.000 collaborative experts and 10.000 connected experts, AVSE Global implements strategic programmes and projects promoting Viet Nam's sustainable development.
It has been implementing a number of programmes to support the homeland’s development. Its activities cover five main areas, namely organizing annual workshops and forums, mostly in Viet Nam, about different development topics; projects giving consultancy to central agencies, localities, and businesses; high-level training programmes; innovation projects; projects on research and development and foreign investment attraction.
The AVSE Global has set up 11 different networks of Vietnamese intellectuals to carry out those areas of activities.
