The Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations (VUFO) held the opening ceremony of the 2022 National Conference on People-to-people Diplomacy in Cao Bang on July 7.
The conference was participated by more than 200 delegates from VUFO's member organizations at the central level, local unions of friendship organizations, and representatives of VUFO's standing agencies.
During the conference, reports were presented on the global and regional situation, foreign policy of the Vietnamese Party and State, people-to-people diplomacy works, and the model of the local unions of friendship organizations. Delegates also joined group discussions on the draft Action Program to implement Directive 12-CT/TW. They discussed the tasks and solutions to strengthen the Party's leadership to improve the effectiveness of people-to-people diplomacy in the new situation and build a strong and effective VUFO system.

The conference offers an opportunity for the entire VUFO system, as well as each member organization to re-assess its activities, develop and implement strategies, plans and action schemes to implement people-to-people diplomacy activities.
The conference's results also help the standing agencies to come up with recommendations to leaders of the Party, State, and local authorities, institutionalize the Party's directives, refine mechanisms and policies related to the organization, apparatus, and human resources, ensure VUFO's operation at the central and local levels.

Previously, VUFO held a conference to review activities in the first six months of 2022 and implement plan for the other half of the year. Many positive results were addressed at the event, such as the increase in quality and quantity of peace, solidarity and friendship work, the successful implementation of the proposed plans on foreign non-governmental organizations work, the well implementation of consultant and research, and the strengthened and consolidated internal work.
An incense offering ceremony was held at Uncle Ho's temple in Pac Bo On this occasion, the conference's delegation led by Ambassador Nguyen Phuong Nga, VUFO President, visited Pac Bo relic and offered incense at Uncle Ho's temple in Pac Bo (Truong Ha commune, Ha Quang district, Cao Bang province) on July 6. The delegates offered incense and promised to study and follow Uncle Ho's moral model, ideology and style. They vowed to constantly cultivate their morality, practice, and strive to overcome difficulties, emulate and complete all tasks, unite and build VUFO's system, which is thriving. |
