Viet Nam - The Ideal Destination for Digital Nomads

Digital nomads around the world are attracted to Viet Nam for many reasons such as the magnificent nature, rich and attractive sights, affordability, hospitable atmosphere and the open visa policy.

A "digital nomad magnet"

Recently, Viet Nam has increasingly attracted the attention of "digital nomads." They do not stay in a fixed place but move, travel freely, while working remotely using technology and the Internet.

Thanks to its richness of cultures, low costs of living and diverse geographical conditions, Asia has always been a favorite destination for digital nomads.

American travel website Travel Off Path lists four main reasons that make Viet Nam a "digital nomad magnet."

Viet Nam's new visa policy was applied from August 15, 2023, with the e-visa being extended to 90 days, valid for multiple entries. This open policy is a plus point for digital nomads to explore Viet Nam.

Also, Viet Nam's electronic visa is more convenient than other Southeast Asian countries. For example, Thailand only issues electronic visas with a validity period of 30-45 days, causing visitors to spend a lot of time renewing. Meanwhile, Indonesia requires visa applicants to have proof of at least 2 billion rupiah (about US $130,000) in their bank account.

Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City have just been honored in the Top 100 world's leading destinations in 2023, according to the annual report of global market research company Euromonitor International.

This result was selected and scored by experts from 55 categories under 6 main criteria, such as economic efficiency, tourism efficiency, tourism infrastructure, tourism policy and attractiveness of the destination, health and safety, and sustainability.

Viet Nam is also famous for its friendliness and hospitality. Foreigners can immediately feel welcomed when interacting, chatting or asking local people for help.

The Vietnamese people's willingness to create new connections for visitors helps them truly feel part of the community.

In the big cities, there are growing expatriate communities from many countries. Tourists and digital nomads can meet like-minded people through co-working spaces and enhance their experiences.

According to Travel Off Path, Viet Nam is a country with beautiful landscapes, rich history, and culture, and especially attractive street food. Viet Nam owns many world heritage sites recognized by UNESCO such as Ha Long Bay, My Son Sanctuary, and Phong Nha-Ke Bang National Park... All are very beautiful and interesting to explore.

Ideal tourist spot for New Year vacation

Not only is it a destination that attracts digital nomads, Viet Nam is also considered the second most attractive and ideal destination in Asia for year-end holidays and welcoming the new year. Viet Nam has the best destinations for all types of travelers whether traveling alone, as a couple, or with family, suggested as Da Nang, Hanoi, and Ho Chi Minh City, Sa Pa.

This was announced by Travel off Path based on an analysis of tour bookings and tourist opinions conducted by Singapore-based online travel platform 12Go.

Accordingly, the tourism inbound from international markets in 10 Asian countries, including Thailand, Viet Nam, and Japan will be prominent.

Based on visitors' opinions, Travel off Path suggests: "Viet Nam is a great place to enjoy the winter holidays. Each city here has its attractions, traditions, and lifestyle. The Vietnamese Lunar New Year lasts a week, which is ideal for you to explore the unique local culture."

Australia's The Sydney Morning Herald proposed in a recent article that in January 2024, Viet Nam is one of the five most ideal destinations to start a wonderful vacation in the new year. During this time, travelers can enjoy a great climate with cool and somewhat chilly air along with beautiful, pleasant sunny weather

The travel industry expects that the peak business season of Lunar New Year 2024 (starting from December 20, 2023, to the 10th day of the Lunar New Year) is currently the market for international visitors to Viet Nam much more vibrant than the same period of 2022. This is a good sign with the hope that in 2024, the green economic sector will continue to recover strongly.
