At the meeting, President of the Viet Nam-Sri Lanka Friendship Association Pham Van Linh conveyed his warm congratulations to the Government and people of Sri Lanka on the occasion of Independence Day, expressing his confidence that Sri Lanka will continue to develop in a stable and prosperous manner. He expressed his hope to strengthen and further deepen cooperation between Viet Nam and Sri Lanka, particularly in trade and several other potential areas, thereby contributing to making the friendship between the two countries increasingly substantive and effective.

During the exchange, both sides affirmed the importance of people-to-people exchanges in consolidating and developing bilateral relations, and agreed to promote community connectivity activities, cultural exchanges, and coordination in organizing people-to-people diplomatic events in the coming period.

Ambassador Poshitha Perera thanked the Viet Nam-Sri Lanka Friendship Association for its congratulations on the occasion of Independence Day, and highly appreciated the Association’s role in promoting people-to-people exchanges between the two countries. The Ambassador noted that Sri Lanka, like Viet Nam, underwent a long and resilient struggle to gain independence; therefore, Independence Day holds special significance for the Sri Lankan nation, serving as an occasion to remember and cherish the values of peace, independence, and freedom.
