Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and President and CEO of NVIDIA Jensen Huang on December 5 witnessed the signing of an cooperation agreement between the Government of Viet Nam and the US chip giant on the establishment of an artificial intelligence (AI) research and development centre and an AI data center in Viet Nam.
During the working session, Prime Minister Chinh thanked Jensen Huang for bringing a spirit of collaboration, trust, and sincerity to the partnership between NVIDIA and Viet Nam. Praising the executive for his intellectual leadership and decisive role in shaping NVIDIA’s commitment to turning Viet Nam into its "second home."
"We have met three times in just over a year, demonstrating mutual trust, sincerity and collaboration," the Prime Minister remarked.
PM Chinh acknowledged contributions of NVIDIA and Jensen Huang himself to Viet Nam’s development, particularly in leveraging science, technology, and AI to drive national growth. He encouraged further collaboration, urging NVIDIA to extend its expertise to critical areas such as AI development, technology transfer, AI infrastructure, and human resource development.
He also called on NVIDIA to collaborate with and support Viet Nam in such fields as data infrastructure, cloud computing, the Internet of Things (IoT), as well as space exploration and marine technology. He emphasized the importance of inspiring Viet Nam’s entrepreneurial movement and promoting innovation and AI, as the country seeks to fulfill its vision of national prosperity and happiness for its people.
He reassured NVIDIA of Viet Nam’s continued commitment to creating a favourable environment for the company’s operations in the principle of harmonised interests and shared risks.
For his part, Jensen Huang said Viet Nam has the potential, infrastructure, and human resources to develop AI, which has increasingly been applied in Viet Nam's socio-economic fields.
Thanking PM Chinh for his vision and encouragement, he said he and his company are committed to always being a friend and partner of Viet Nam in its development journey./.
