Party General Secretary To Lam hosted a reception in Hanoi on July 30 for Gautam Adani, Chairman of the Adani Group of India, during which he affirmed that Viet Nam welcomes foreign investors, including Indian enterprises, to expand investment in the country.
The Party chief expressed his satisfaction with the sound development of the Viet Nam – India Comprehensive Strategic Partnership with high strategic trust.
He highlighted the two countries’ shared development aspirations, as both aim to become modern developed nations by the centenary of their independence – 2045 for Viet Nam and 2047 for India. In this spirit, General Secretary Lam called for strengthened cooperation across multiple sectors, particularly in trade, investment and economic ties, to match the potential of the bilateral relations.
The Party leader underlined Viet Nam’s ongoing implementation of its strategic breakthroughs, with a focus on science and technology, innovation, digital transformation and development of the private sector.
He affirmed Viet Nam’s commitment to creating the most favourable conditions for both domestic and foreign investors to develop their business and investment projects, thus contributing to the country's development.
For his part, Adani expressed his admiration for Viet Nam’s vision and national development strategy. He congratulated Viet Nam, under the leadership of the Communist Party of Viet Nam headed by General Secretary To Lam, on its impressive socio-economic achievements, which have elevated the country into one of the region’s most dynamic economies and an attractive destination for global investors.
Highlighting the Adani Group's extensive experience in strategic sectors such as ports, airports, transport, logistics, energy and digital technology, he noted that the firm operates numerous large-scale projects in India and around the world, including India’s largest seaport – Mundra Port. The Adani Group is also currently the largest energy provider in India, he noted.

He briefed the Vietnamese Party leader on the group’s activities and long-term vision in Viet Nam, affirming its commitment to strategic investments worth up to 10 billion USD in areas where the firm has strengths.
With its proven capacity and global experience, the group aims to contribute to Viet Nam’s development, particularly in infrastructure, energy, renewable energy, and emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence. He expressed his hope for continued support from the Vietnamese Party and State for the Adani Group’s operations in the country.
General Secretary Lam congratulated the Adani Group on its significant contributions to India’s economic progress, and welcomed its long-term investment strategy in Viet Nam. He said this will serve to deepen economic ties and strengthen the connections between the two economies.
He took note of the group’s proposals and encouraged it to coordinate directly with relevant ministries, agencies and localities to clarify cooperation priorities and accelerate the deployment of its projects./.
