The meeting was organized by the Pushkin Institute (Department of International Cooperation, Ministry of Education and Training). Participants include Russian-taught students from High School for the Gifted, namely High School for Foreign Languages under Vietnam National University, Nguyen Trai High School for the Gifted (Hai Duong Province), Thai Nguyen High School for the Gifted (Thai Nguyen Province) and Hoang Van Thu High School for the Gifted (Hoa Binh province).
At the meeting, Russian Ambassador to Vietnam Gennady Bezdetko welcomed the students’ inquisitive spirit, as well as their love for the Russian country and culture. In addition, the Ambassador shared his experience in learning foreign languages, his impressions of Vietnamese culture, customs, cuisine and especially his feelings towards Vietnamese people during the term.
G. Bezdetko hoped that the meeting would not only help students better understand the Russian language and culture, and contribute to strengthening the relationship between Vietnamese and Russian people, under the spirit of a comprehensive strategic partnership.
“All the students have been carefully preparing for the meeting today. They brought questions, gifts, and wishes to the Ambassador. In particular, students from Thai Nguyen High School for the Gifted presented with the Ambassador a poem and tea, which is a specialty of Thai Nguyen Province. I hope that more meetings will be organized in the future so that the students will have opportunities to exchange and use Russian," said Ekaterina Kozulina (Russian teacher at high schools in Vietnam as part of the humanities project "Russian teachers abroad") said.

Nguyen Ngoc Ha, who is in 11th grade at Thai Nguyen High School for the Gifted, considers it a blessing to attend the meeting. He said that the Russian Ambassador was very friendly and helpful to share with the students interesting experiences of learning Russian, including watching movies, reading books, communicating in Russian, etc.“The meeting motivates me to improve not only Russian but also many other languages," added Ha.
