The first part of the book features various aspects of peace and war in different periods. Thoughts on peace in Vietnam are also included.
The second part consists of a series of articles on the Communist Party of Vietnam’s views and policies on the country’s peace.
The third section addresses issues of the international peace and solidarity movements as well as the current struggle for peace of the Vietnamese people.
Speaking at the launch ceremony on September 5, Vice Chairman of the National Assembly and Chairman of the Vietnam Peace Committee Uong Chu Luu emphasised that peace is the most sacred desire of humans, especially for Vietnam – a country that has gone through many wars to defend national independence.
Lưu said protecting peace, defending independence, sovereignty, unity and territorial integrity of the country, stabilising political-social security and creating a peaceful and stable environment for the development of the country are the responsibility of the Party, the army and the people.
