Representatives of 11 INGOS operating in Vietnam were attending.
The Conference was co-chaired by Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Hung, PACCOM Deputy Director General and Mr. Do Quoc Tuan, Director of the Bac Giang Department of Foreign Affairs, Vice President of the Bac Giang Union of Friendship Organizations.
At the meeting, Mr. Nguyen Quang Tuan, Permanent Deputy Director of the Bac Giang Department of Foreign Affairs shared the results of INGOs work in 2008-2013 period and the orientations in 2014-2017 period.
According to Mr. Tuan, in the period of 2008-2013, Bac Giang province had relationship with 20 INGOs and the total aid’s value reached about 17 million USD, mainly in the fields of poverty reduction, sustainable development, education, healthcare, environmental protection, solving social issues.
The representatives of INGOs straightly and constructively shared their activities and strong points, made suggestions on INGOs work of Bac Giang Province, recommended cooperation abilities in the fields of AIDS/HIV prevention, education and training, helping children with difficulties, clean water and sanitation, preventive healthcare and urban planning…
Mr. DO Quoc Tuan thanked for INGOs’ practical suggestions. He committed to have measures on the reform of administrative procedures, strengthen the relationship and create favorable conditions for INGOs, enhance assessment, monitoring and information sharing, further enhance the capacities of local staffs…
At the end of the meeting, Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Hung highly appreciated the pro-activeness and commitments of the Bac Giang Department of Foreign Affairs.
He suggested some follow-up steps to promote the cooperation relationship between Bac Giang Province and INGOs in the future.
He also confirmed that PACCOM will actively promote the mechanism of information sharing, create favorable conditions for INGOs operating in Vietnam in general and in Bac Giang Province in particular, and hoped that the meeting is the beginning of the longer cooperation between PACCOM, Bac Giang Province and INGOs in the future.
