Present at the ceremony were Mr. Nguyen Thien Nhan, member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Prime Minister; Mr. Vu Xuan Hong, VUFO President ; Mr. Nguyen Vinh Hien, Deputy Minister of Education and Training; Mr. Suh Woo Jung, Executive Vice President of Samsung Life Insurance Co Ltd; Mr. Cho Hyun Ju, GSC General Secretary.
Prior to the ceremony, Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Thien Nhan, Deputy Minister Nguyen Vinh Hien and VUFO President Vu Xuan Hong hosted a reception for representatives from Samsung Life Insurance Co Ltd and GCS.
At the reception, Mr. Nguyen Thien Nhan said that the relation between Vietnam and South Korea is a long - standing and strategic partnership one. And he highly appreciated Samsung Life Insurance Co Ltd and GCS in providing computers for schools in Vietnam. Following the reception, the MOA for the project was signed in the witness of Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Thien Nhan, Vice Minister Nguyen Vinh Hien and representatives of all parties.
Mr. Suh Woo Jung expressed his honor to be part of the ceremony on the occasion of South Korean President Park Geun Hye’s official visit to Vietnam.
Mr. Cho Hyun Ju expected that the project could contribute to improving informatics skills for Vietnamese pupils.
VUFO President Vu Xuan Hong expressed his thanks for the presence of distinguished guests at the signing ceremony. In industrialization, modernization and integration, human resource and technology are key elements to success, he said, and education plays a more important role and needs more interest from all sectors in the process.
President Vu Xuan Hong was also thankful for the valuable contributions of Samsung Life Insurance Co Ltd and GCS, and hoped this project could facilitate the study of Vietnamese pupils.
He said the project was as a gift from the South Korean people to the Vietnamese people on the occasion of President Park Geun Hye’s visit to Vietnam.
The $1.30 million Project “Vietnam Hope Computer Class” will be implemented from 2013 to 2017. It will provide computers for secondary schools in the suburban districts of Hanoi and some other provinces./.
