In his remark, Dr. Gerhard Wahlers, KAS Deputy Secretary General and Head of International Cooperation, reviewed some of the milestones in KAS activities in Vietnam. The most outstanding among those is the establishment of the Berlin conference room at the Diplomatic Academy of Vietnam, which is a symbol of Germany's commitment to supporting education and training development in Vietnam, and a dignification of friendship between the two peoples.
KAS also contributed to building and maintaining the Rule-of-Law Dialogue between Vietnam and Germany. This series of events help create favorable conditions for the people of the two countries in the fields of civil status, nationality, mutual legal assistance, as well as for trading procedures between businesses.
According to Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Do Hung Viet, KAS has been accompanying Vietnam since the beginning of Doi Moi (renovation). Its activities, such as long-term projects and capacity-building programs, have helped Vietnam's economic and social development process reach significant achievements.
In March 2022, KAS was awarded a "Certificate of Merit for collectives and individuals with outstanding achievements in implementing Decree 55/2011/ND-CP" by the Minister of Justice of Vietnam. This is a recognition for KAS's contribution in sharing experiences and initiatives to orient the activities of the Rule-of-Law Dialogue program between the two contries' ministries of justice.
