Vietnam is ready to have dialogue with countries on human rights

“Guaranteeing human rights is the key in Vietnam’s economic and social development policy. Vietnam’s efforts have been recognized by the international community at the Universal Periodic Review (UPR), the second cycle (February 2014).

Some observations on Vietnam made in the US State Department’s Human Rights Report in 2013 are based on the imprecise information which does not reflect the objective realities on the human rights situation in Vietnam.

In the frank and constructive spirit, Vietnam is ready to have dialogue with countries, including the United State, which still have the views at variance with those of Vietnam in the human rights area, in order to enhance the understanding, narrow the differences and through it, raise the preciseness and objectivity in the judgments of the human rights situation in Vietnam”./.
