The Viet Nam-Hungary Friendship Association held a Friendship Gathering on September 14 in Hanoi to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Viet Nam and Hungary and the 35th anniversary of the Association’s founding. The event was attended by Hungarian Ambassador to Viet Nam Tibor Baloghdi, Vice President of the Hungary - Viet Nam Friendship Association Varaljai Marton, and around 500 members, reaffirming the close and enduring relationship between the peoples of the two countries.

Speaking at the gathering, Vu Hoang Linh, President of the Viet Nam-Hungary Friendship Association, emphasized that only five years after the birth of the Democratic Republic of Viet Nam, the two countries established diplomatic relations. Since then, the Vietnamese people have always valued the precious support and assistance of the Hungarian Government and people. He affirmed that over its 35 years of operation, the Viet Nam-Hungary Friendship Association has actively promoted people-to-people diplomacy, closely coordinated with the Hungarian Embassy in Viet Nam to organize many cultural and educational activities, and promoted the image of both countries and peoples. On this occasion, he expressed his gratitude to the Vietnamese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Viet Nam Union of Friendship Organizations, the Hungarian Embassy in Viet Nam, particularly Ambassador Tibor Baloghdi, as well as enterprises and members who have accompanied and supported the Association in many activities.

This May, the President of Hungary made an official visit to Viet Nam, and we highly appreciate Viet Nam’s interest and efforts to ensure that both sides could celebrate this sustainable relationship worthily.” The Ambassador also extended congratulations on the 35th anniversary of the Viet Nam-Hungary Friendship Association and wished it continued success.

Varaljai Marton, Vice President of the Hungary-Viet Nam Friendship Association, expressed his honor to attend such a meaningful gathering. He said that being invited by the Viet Nam Union of Friendship Organizations to participate in the activities marking the 80th anniversary of Viet Nam’s National Day was a special honor and an inspiration that reflects the strong friendship between the two nations.
