During the meeting, the two sides reviewed the people-to-people exchange and friendship activities between Viet Nam and Cuba that had been carried out in recent years; assessed the outcomes of cooperation between the Viet Nam Union of Friendship Organizations, the Viet Nam-Cuba Friendship Association, ICAP, and Cuban partners; and discussed cooperation programs for the new period.
Phan Anh Son, President of the Viet Nam Union of Friendship Organizations, shared his sympathy for the difficulties and challenges currently facing the Cuban people, affirming that Vietnamese friendship organizations and people have always extended solidarity, friendship, and sincere support to Cuba.
He emphasized the significance of activities commemorating the 100th birth anniversary of Leader Fidel Castro (August 13, 1926 - August 13, 2026), and expressed his hope for continued close coordination with ICAP in organizing friendship and exchange activities that contribute to enhancing mutual understanding and strengthening bonds between the peoples of the two countries.
ICAP President Fernando Gonzalez Llort expressed his gratitude for the support and solidarity consistently extended to Cuba by the Party, State, and people of Viet Nam. He highly appreciated the practical cooperation and support provided by the Viet Nam Union of Friendship Organizations, the Viet Nam-Cuba Friendship Association, and their member organizations in recent years, which have helped consolidate the friendship between the peoples of the two countries.

Discussing the cooperation program for the 2026-2031 period, the two sides agreed to continue expanding people-to-people exchanges and promoting cooperation between localities and friendship organizations of the two countries. They also agreed to strengthen communication and education efforts aimed at younger generations on the history and significance of the special Viet Nam-Cuba friendship.
The two sides agreed to maintain regular exchanges and coordinate the implementation of people-to-people exchange and friendship cooperation activities in the coming period, thereby continuing to nurture and develop the special solidarity and friendship between Viet Nam and Cuba.
