In 2023, the world and the region experienced rapid and complicated changes as a result of strategic competition among major countries and non-traditional security challenges such as cybersecurity, migration, climate change, terrorism, and pandemic. In addition, the slow recovery of the global economy, combined with changes in policies and resources of countries with aid policies, has created problems and obstacles for all governments, international organizations, and even foreign non-governmental organizations (NGOs).
Overcoming difficulties, the value of foreign NGOs' aid disbursed to Viet Nam in 2023 reached USD 228.6 million, an increase of USD 4.9 million over the same period in 2022 (the value of aid reached USD 223.7 million in 2022), with a focus on in need fields and localities in Viet Nam.
Contributing to the above results, the Committee has always proactively built plans that are close to reality, proactively supported foreign NGOs, created maximum convenience for NGOs while ensuring compliance with legal regulations, and proactively provided technical advice and suggestions for foreign NGOs' activities. The Committee's involvement, support, and companionship have been appreciated by agencies, ministries, branches, localities, and foreign NGOs, providing a foundation for the Committee to continue overcoming difficulties and challenges and effectively fulfilling foreign NGO work in 2024.
