Habitat for Humanity to Create More Housing opportunities for Low-income People

These opportunities will be further addressed at the Asia-Pacific Housing Forum, expected to be held in Hanoi in 2024 by US NGO Habitat for Humanity.

This is one of the topics discussed between Nguyen Ngoc Hung, Vice President of the Viet Nam Union of Friendship Organizations (VUFO), and Maricelle Regino-Borja, National Director of Habitat for Humanity in Vietnam (Habitat Vietnam) on November 20.

At the meeting, Maricelle Regino-Borja, National Director of Habitat Vietnam, said that the organization plans to expand its housing construction project for the poor in Vietnam (Vietnam Big Build), which was implemented since 2018 in the provinces: Dong Thap, Tien Giang, Phu Tho. In 2024, the Project expects to construct houses for 25 ethnic minority families in Bat Xat district, Lao Cai province. The Vietnam Big Build 2024 is expected to attract the participation of more than 200 Vietnamese and international volunteers, providing an opportunity to strengthen connections and cultural exchanges between young people in Vietnam and other countries.
