According to Ambassador Sergio Narea, Vietnam is a major economic partner of Chile. Trade turnover between the two countries reached about USD 1.8 billion in 2022. In his new position, he will continue to promote bilateral economic and trade cooperation, including in the agricultural sector, taking advantage of the free trade agreements (FTAs) that the two countries have signed such as the Vietnam - Chile FTA, and the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP).

The Chilean Embassy in Vietnam wishes to coordinate with VUFO to celebrate the 52nd anniversary of the two countries' diplomatic relations (March 25, 1971 - March 25, 2023). In particular, on March 25, a Chilean delegation will visit Vietnam and attend the celebration. The delegation will hold cultural and art exchange activities, including an exhibition of paintings about Vietnam joined by world-famous muralist Mono Gonzalez - who designed a piece of ceramic painting on Hanoi's ceramic street.
VUFO Vice President and General Secretary Phan Anh Son said, although Vietnam and Chile are geographically far apart, they have a good traditional friendship and cooperation. VUFO and the Vietnam - Chile Friendship Association are willing to coordinate with the Chilean Embassy to promote the two countries' relations in the fields of politics, culture, and economy. In the immediate future, all sides are looking to cooperate to organize activities in celebration of the 52nd anniversary of diplomatic relations.
VUFO is willing to organize field trips in some localities for the Ambassador and Embassy staff, thereby enhancing economic cooperation and other fields.

The leader of Vietnam - Chile Friendship Association said that in the coming time, the Association and the Chilean Embassy would have many opportunities to realize cooperation plans. The Association suggested both sides exchange and work directly to set out the direction and coordination program for this year and the following years.
