The Vietnamese Embassy in Mongolia and the Vietnamese Association in Mongolia on April 11 presented donations to support local people here overcoming the consequences of natural disasters to the Mongolia National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA).
Mongolia has just experienced an extremely harsh winter with icy weather and prolonged drought, causing great damage to people and property. Faced with the above situation, the Vietnamese Embassy in Mongolia has coordinated with the Vietnamese Association in the host country to mobilize overseas Vietnamese in the country to donate to support the Mongolian people in overcoming the consequences of natural disasters.

The Vietnamese community in Mongolia currently has more than 600 people, mainly working in the auto repair service industry. Given many difficulties due to the general influence of the global economy, but with the spirit of "A good leaf covers torn leaves" and to express solidarity with the Mongolian people, responded to the call of the embassy and the Executive Committee of the Vietnamese Association in Mongolia, the community raised MNT 15,5 million (equivalent to about USD 4,570 and more than VND 114 million).
At the reception, NEMA Director G.Ariunbuyan expressed his sincere gratitude to the embassy, the Vietnamese Association, and the Vietnamese community in Mongolia, who has always offered sympathy, and sharing to the Mongolian people. He reiterated that in 2021 the Vietnamese Government and the Vietnamese community in Mongolia also had many forms of support for the Mongolian people against the Covid-19 pandemic.
G.Ariunbuyan affirmed that this valuable donation from the Vietnamese community is a source of great spiritual encouragement to help the Mongolian people quickly overcome difficult times.
Regarding bilateral cooperation between Viet Nam and Mongolia in natural disaster prevention, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development of Viet Nam and the NEMA signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on cooperation in the prevention of natural disasters. against natural disasters on July 5, 2018. However, cooperative activities were recently interrupted due to Covid-19.
G.Ariunbuyan emphasized the desire to implement specific cooperation contents of the Memorandum of Understanding such as exchanging experiences, and training rescue workers, especially in 2024 - the year of the 70th anniversary of establishing diplomatic relations between the two countries. The NEMA side hopes to exchange delegations with the Vietnamese ministry, contributing to the overall development of bilateral relations.
