Patricia Pena said that one of GAC's latest initiatives to support Canadian organizations in the Indo-Pacific region is a call for proposals and initiatives in key areas of growth in government and institution building. By mid-2024, suitable proposals and initiatives will be selected for implementation in the initial phase of 5 years.
VUFO President Phan Anh Son shared that VUFO builds and maintains a good relationship with Canadian organizations in Vietnam. VUFO has built a mechanism to regularly communicate with them for better cooperation. One of the typical examples of VUFO's Canadian partners in Vietnam is the Canadian Embassy in Vietnam.
In response, Patricia Pena praised VUFO's approach to creating people-to-people exchange in many dimensions. She stressed that delegation exchange programs are also important in connecting people of the two countries. The programs are opportunities to unite members of friendship associations, businessmen, scholars, researchers, and so on, thereby contributing to the development of Vietnam-Canada cooperation.
At the meeting, the two sides agreed that the cooperative relationship between the two countries still has a lot of potential, especially relations between localities, people-to-people exchanges; believing that the relationship between Vietnam and Canada will continue to grow and become more substantive in the coming time, meeting the interests of the two peoples, and contributing to peace, stability, and development in the region and the world.
