At the meeting in Hanoi on July 16, Nga noted that the cooperation between Vietnam and India has obtained significant results in all fields.
Notably, the promotion of the Vietnam-India to comprehensive strategic partnership has facilitated the friendship, cooperation and people-to-people diplomatic activities between the two sides.
Also, the annual Vietnam-India People’s Friendship Festival, jointly held by the VUFO, the Vietnam-India Friendship Association, and the All India Peace and Solidarity Organisation (AIPSO), has encouraged solidarity and friendship between the people of the two nations.
It also has drawn the attention of Indian politicians and business people to Vietnam, thus creating new chances for multifaceted bilateral cooperation, she added.
In response, Vice President Das Saktidhar said the Indian people have supported their Vietnamese peers in the struggle for independence and in the national construction.
The Vietnam-India friendship has enjoyed strong growth, with exchanges of delegations and cultural events deepening bilateral relations, he noted.
Vice President Gobardhan pledged that his organisation will continue assisting Vietnam during its national construction and defence, showing his belief that the Vietnam-India friendship will continue to thrive.
At the meeting, the two sides expressed their hopes that the ISCUF delegation visit would enhance cultural and friendship exchanges between Vietnamese and Indian people, as well as opportunities for cooperation.
Especially, delegates had a chance to watch Indian traditional dance performed by Odissi dancer Sasmita Panda.
During their stay in Vietnam, the ISCUF delegation will take part in various friendship and sightseeing activities in Hanoi, Hoa Binh and Quang Ninh provinces so as to explore the country and its people.

ISCUF was established to increase co-operation in all fields between India and all friendly countries for mutual benefit and on the basis of equality and respect for each other’s sovereignty and independence; promoting closer cultural relations and all friendship between the peoples of India and friendly countries, with a view to furthering mutual understanding and goodwill; and national integration communal harmony and unity of Indian people.
In the struggle for national liberation, the ISCUF supported Vietnam both physically and mentally. The ISCUF held conferences, seminars, demonstrations against US imperialism; at the same time transporting medicines and essential goods to Vietnam during the war.
