At the reception, Iqboljon Ergashev, Chairman of the Committee for Development of Silk and Wool Industry of the Republic of Uzbekistan, said that Uzbekistan is famous for its cotton, while Vietnam is prominent in silk production. This is an opportunity for the two countries to exchange, learn from each other, and cooperate to promote each economy. Uzbekistan looks forward to learning from Vietnam's experience in silk production and strengthening cooperation with Vietnam in this regard.
According to Zulaykho Makhkamova, Deputy Prime Minister, Chairwoman of the Committee for Family and Women of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Uzbekistan values friendly relations with Vietnam. President Shavkat Mirziyoyev often urges ministries and units to strengthen cooperation with Vietnam in all aspects.
Phan Anh Son, President of the Viet Nam Union of Friendship Organizations, said that the traditional friendship and cooperation between Vietnam and Uzbekistan has been preserved, nurtured, and developed by the governments and people of the two countries based on deep understanding, mutual respect, and trust. About 3,000 Vietnamese students have studied in Uzbekistan in many fields. The alumni have actively contributed to the struggle for national independence and reunification in the past as well as the current construction and development. They are also a bridge connecting the two countries' relations.
Affirming that Vietnam - Uzbekistan has much potential for cooperation, VUFO President Phan Anh Son hopes to continue to strengthen and promote people-to-people relations between Vietnam and Uzbekistan, in which the Vietnam - Uzbekistan Friendship Association plays a key role, along with VUFO's companionship and support.
