The Vietnamese Embassy in Brazil on June 3 handed over the relief shipment to the External Relations of the Federal District of Brasilia (SERINTER) - one of the two focal points receiving international aid to contribute to solving the urgent needs of the people of Rio Grande do Sul state, who are still suffering severe consequences from recent widespread flooding.
The Vietnam Embassy Trade Union in Brazil has prepared some necessary necessities such as washing powder, milk, blankets, and cash as a form of encouragement and timely support for the victims' families.

Former Vice Governor, and head of External Relations of the Federal District of Brasilia, Paco Britto, on behalf of the Government and people of Rio Grande do Sul state, expressed his thanks, and affirmed that this is a noble gesture of the Government and Vietnamese people along with the Embassy to Rio Grande do Sul.
Britto also said that up to now SERINTER has received more than 4 tons of aid for Rio Grande do Sul from organizations and diplomatic corps, and will continue to receive aid to deliver to victims' families as soon as possible.
In addition, he shared that the water level in Rio Grande do Sul is gradually receding, but some areas are still flooded, and water sources are polluted due to dead animals, making it difficult for people to live and move around. Currently, the state is implementing remedial measures such as reassessing the geology of areas after the flood; rebuilding bridges, and roads, reinforcing airport runways; supporting people in building houses; and calling for aid to help people return to daily life soon.
Previously, on May 8, through local press news, the Vietnamese Embassy in Brazil promptly sent a letter of condolences to the Presidential Office, Foreign Ministry, Rio Grande do Sul state, and the Brazil-Vietnam Friendship Association, as well as the families of the victims.
In addition, on May 13, the Vietnamese Embassy in Brazil paid a working visit to the Brazilian National Supply Company (CONAB), to offer condolences and encouragement to the families of the victims as well as learn about CONAB's operations as well as the bidding process for supplies, especially in responding to natural disasters.
