As of late 2024, Bulgaria had 14 direct investment projects in Viet Nam, with a total capital of over US$31 million, ranking 69th out of 145 countries and territories investing in Viet Nam.
Reflecting on 75 years of diplomatic ties, she emphasized the deep-rooted and steadfast friendship between Viet Nam and Bulgaria, nurtured by generations of leaders and citizens. In recent years, high-level visits between the two countries have demonstrated a shared commitment to long-term cooperation, with both sides aiming for a practical, effective partnership that could evolve into a strategic alliance. Viet Nam and Bulgaria continue to showcase their sustainable cooperation on the international stage, contributing to a world of peace, prosperity, and mutual development.
Dr. Oleg Marinov, Economic and Trade Counselor in Ho Chi Minh City, read a congratulatory letter from Bulgarian Ambassador to Viet Nam Pavlin Todorov. In the letter, Ambassador Todorov reaffirmed the profound and traditional friendship between Bulgaria and Viet Nam, built on mutual respect, shared values, and common goals.
"On behalf of myself and the entire staff of the Embassy of the Republic of Bulgaria in Hanoi, I extend my heartfelt gratitude to our Vietnamese friends in Ho Chi Minh City for standing with us on this memorable day for Bulgaria and for keeping the spirit of Bulgaria alive in Viet Nam. We highly appreciate the associations and the Vietnamese community members who have studied, lived, and worked in Bulgaria. They are an invaluable asset to our bilateral relations," Ambassador Todorov wrote.
He emphasized that the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations was an important occasion to celebrate past achievements and outline new opportunities for future cooperation between the two nations.
On March 2, in celebration of Bulgaria’s National Day, the Viet Nam-Bulgaria Friendship Association in Hanoi sent a congratulatory letter to Ambassador Pavlin Todorov. In the letter, Le Thu Ha, chairwoman of the Hanoi Viet Nam-Bulgaria Friendship Association, expressed joy over Bulgaria’s recent successes, noting that many of the association’s members consider Bulgaria their "second homeland" after studying and working there. She acknowledged Bulgaria’s full integration into the European and international community as a developed nation that upholds principles of friendship, good neighborly relations, and mutual respect. Chairwoman Le Thu Ha reaffirmed the strong and growing traditional friendship between Viet Nam and Bulgaria, which has been solidified through both bilateral and multilateral cooperation in areas of shared interest. She also praised the activities organized by the Bulgarian Embassy in Viet Nam in collaboration with Viet Nam-Bulgaria friendship associations and expressed hope for even closer cooperation between the Hanoi Viet Nam-Bulgaria Friendship Association and the Bulgarian Embassy in the future, further strengthening the bonds between the two nations and their people. |
