The Viet Nam - France Friendship Association of Dong Thap province on November 29 held its 6th Congress for the 2024 - 2029 term.
Over the past 5 years, the Dong Thap's Viet Nam - France Friendship Association has been active, maintaining good relations with French partners, successfully held numberous friendly exchange events with the French people.
At the same time, it has organized activities to contribute to improving the quality of French language teaching, creating a useful playground for students to study and practice French to learn about the country, its people, as well as the Viet Nam - France ties.
The association also plays a good role as a bridge to connect and support businesses in finding markets, expanding cooperation, and mobilizing foreign non-governmental aid with organizations and individuals in France.

The congress elected 18 members of the Executive Committee of the Dong Thap's Viet Nam - France Friendship Association for the 2024 - 2029 period, led by Tran Tri Quang, vice chairman of the Dong Thap People's Committee as its president.
Speaking at the Congress, Phan Thanh Binh, vice president of the Central Viet Nam - France Friendship and Cooperation Association, congratulated the newly-elected Executive Committee, and praised the results of the Executive Committee's activities in the past term.
He voices his hope that in the coming time, the provincial Viet Nam - France Friendship Association will continue to promote its role in connecting with French partners, focusing on cooperation to promote Dong Thap's strengths.
Chairman of the local Union of Friendship Organizations, Le Xuan Hai, suggested that the provincial Viet Nam - France Friendship Association in the new term continue to focus on effectively organizing exchange, friendship and cooperation activities. Thereby, contributing to consolidating and promoting the good traditional relationship between the two countries, strengthening close cooperation between Dong Thap and French localities.

On this occasion, the Central Viet Nam - France Friendship and Cooperation Association, the Chairman of the Dong Thap People's Committee presented Certificates of Merit to two collectives and three individuals with outstanding achievements in the association's work and people-to-people diplomacy.
The Dong Thap Union of Friendship Organizations commended and honored two outstanding individuals with many achievements and contributions to the people-to-people diplomacy between Viet Nam and France in the 2018-2023 period.
