Ceremony marking the VUFO's 70th Anniversary of Traditional Day and Patriotic Emulation Congress 2020-2025

The ceremony has witnessed the participation of the leaders of the Party and State, former leaders of the Party and State, leaders of Departments, Ministries and Branches; representatives of Hanoi City People's Committee and Vietnam Fatherland Front; socio-political organizations as well as people's organizations at the central level.

The ceremony is expected to be attended by the Ambassadors of Armenia, India, Bulgaria, Cambodia, Cuba, East Timor, Germany, Italy, Morocco, Mexico, Malaysia, Mongolia, South Africa, Oman, Finland, Venezuela, Mozambique, Saudi Arabia, Sri Lanka, etc

The ceremony aims to review the history and traditions of people-to-people work of the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations in the struggle for national independence, defense, and construction as well as in the world movements for peace, democracy, and social progress. At the same time, this is also an occasion to express thanks for the valuable assistance of international friends in the cause of struggling for national liberation and defending and constructing the country of Vietnamese people, the cooperation between departments, ministries, branches, and localities with the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations. Besides, the event aims to educate and promote traditions, create motivation for cadres and civil servants of the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations to fulfill their political tasks, improve the quality and effectiveness of people-to-people work in the new situation.

The Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations will also summarize and evaluate the results of performing its patriotic emulation movements in the period 2015 - 2020 and set out the goals, orientations, and tasks of the patriotic emulation movements in the period 2020 - 2025. The event is also an occasion to honor outstanding collectives and individuals in the patriotic emulation movements, thereby promoting the strength of the entire contingent working on people-to-people work of the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations, creating motivation and determination to accomplish the political tasks, engaging into the exciting atmosphere nationwide in acquiring achievements to welcome the 13th National Party Congress and the 10th National Patriotic Congress.

Mr. Pham Binh Minh, Member of the Politburo, Deputy Prime Minister of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, Minister of Foreign Affairs, on behalf of the Party and State leaders mounted the Ho Chi Minh Medal and awarded the Certification to the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations.
