The ceremony was attended by former students, those who studied, lived, and worked in Bulgaria, and those who love the nation and its people. The activity aims to review the memories and noble feelings of professors, friends, and Bulgarians for Vietnamese students from their years of working, studying, and working in Bulgaria.
On May 24, Bulgarian Culture and Education Day and Slavonic Script celebrates the country's traditional and modern cultural values. It also recognizes teachers, cultural experts, students, and training institutions who have contributed to the development of Bulgarian education.

This is also the day to honor the Bulgarian brothers Kiril and Metodi, the creators of the first Bulgarian alphabet. On this foundation, the "Kirilitsa" alphabet developed, resulting in the current form of Slavic writing. Currently, hundreds of millions of people utilize Slavic characters in approximately 20 nations around the world, including Serbia, Montenegro, Russia, Ukraine, and Belarus.
Speaking at the ceremony, Chairman of the Vietnam-Bulgaria Friendship Association Huynh Quyet Thang stated that the Association, as a social organization, has made many efforts to strengthen and develop the friendship between the two countries' peoples through various activities, contributing to people's diplomacy.
The celebration of Bulgarian Culture and Education Day, and Slavonic Script in Vietnam demonstrates the Association's gratitude and contribution to maintaining, consolidating, and promoting the two countries' traditional friendship, heading toward the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Bulgaria in 2025.

He affirmed that in the future, the Association will continue to gather members and organize more useful activities to spread the love for the country and people of Bulgaria, as well as develop a specific work plan to strengthen relations between Vietnamese and Bulgarian educational institutions; trade and investment cooperation between the two countries enterprises.
"The Association is committed to trying its best to develop people-to-people exchanges between Vietnam and Bulgaria and looks forward to the close and comprehensive cooperation of the Embassy and the Bulgarian community in Vietnam," said Huynh Quyet Thang.
According to Bulgarian Ambassador to Vietnam Pavlin Todorov, being able to welcome his country's important holiday in Vietnam gives him great pride, showing the respect and appreciation that Vietnamese who have studied and worked in Bulgaria have for Bulgaria, as is the preservation and promotion of Bulgarian literature, education, and culture in Vietnam.

The Ambassador highlighted that educational and cultural exchange between the people of the two nations is the foundation for establishing and deepening friendship, leading to "the next generation of friends" between Bulgaria and Vietnam.
Bulgaria currently has a guest lecturer who teaches Vietnamese at Sofia University. The Ambassador hopes that the Vietnamese side will also restore Bulgarian language learning so that both countries will take full advantage of the scholarship quota, thereby further promoting direct links between universities and the two countries' Academy of Science and Technology.

In 2023, the Bun-Viet Dictionary was published as a valuable academic work by academics from both countries, addressing the language learning needs of the people of both countries. To bring Bulgarian poet Blaga Dimitrova's work "Between Love" with 86 poems closer to Vietnamese readers, it has also been translated.
Ambassador Pavlin Todorov stated that the Embassy always supports projects to translate and publish modern Bulgarian literature in Vietnam, as well as activities that foster long-term interest in the country and its culture, including the Bulgarian Rose Festival, Bulgarian cinema screenings, exhibitions, concerts, and fairs focused on Bulgarian culture.
Affirming that there is enormous potential to strengthen and develop mutually beneficial cooperation between the two countries, the Ambassador hopes that, on the occasion of Bulgaria and Vietnam's 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations in 2025, the two countries will have more initiatives that provide opportunities for cooperation in the fields of education, culture, and tourism, thereby creating new bridges of friendship.

During the event, people who have studied, lived, and worked in Bulgaria discussed and reviewed experiences of the country, people, and traditional Vietnamese-Bulgarian relations.
