At the launching ceremony, Ambassador of Denmark in Vietnam Nicolai Prytz expressed his excited to attend the launching of the Denmark in Your Eyes painting competition, which in his opinion, has added a lot of values to the strengthening of the two countries’ long term cooperation on promoting green and sustainable development.
He also impressed with the number of more than 18,000 paintings submitted in the last competition, which shows the high popularity of the competition among schoolchildren all over Vietnam. He believes that the competition is an amazing playground for Vietnamese children, not only to express wishes about their future, but more importantly to come up with creative ideas about how we can together create a green future and make our planet a prosperous and sustainable home for the well-being of all.
Le Ngoc Tuan, head of the Department of International Cooperation under the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment, Vice Chairman of the Vietnam - Denmark Friendship Association said that Denmark is a country 10,000km from Vietnam. Participating in the contest helps students overcome geographical distance to gain more knowledge about the country and people of Vietnam and Denmark.
“The drawing contest theme is very suitable in the context that countries around the world are facing serious challenges caused by climate change and environmental pollution. Therefore, their wishes for a green future will be a message to help resource and environment managers like us have more responsibility and contribute more ideas in building a green future for the children and for all humanity", Tuan affirmed.
