In his openning speech, Ambassador Chu Tuan Cap said that the purpose of the talks to inform the relevant institutions and VGFA’s members of the political situation in Germany before the Federal Election in December 2013. This is also a good opportunity to further strengthen the friendship and cooperation relations between VGFA and FES. He believed that the two sides, via this talks, will make contribution to the enhancement of the friendship and cooperation relations between Vietnam and the Federal Republic of Germany.
Addressing the event, Mr. Erwin Schweisshelm reviewed the good relations between the two countries, in which the two Parties have played an important role. He said that the close friendship and cooperation relations between the two nations in recent years have always been further consolidated and developed. Vietnam and Germany in November 2011 signed a strategic partnership agreement. The two sides have regularly exchanged delegations at all levels. Mr. Erwin Schweisshelm also emphasized that VGFA and FES are responsible for implementation of cooperation in the field of civil society. He expressed his pleasure to have further cooperation with VGFA in holding dialogues on topical subjects of the two countries.
Ms. Bulmahn Edelgal, Ms. Karin Roth, Mr. Anton Schaaf in turns provided information about the current situations on German politics, economics and society in 2013; about German political parties, which have representatives in the Bundestag; about the election procedures and norms for decision of election results. Ms. Bulmahn Edelgal said, the year 2013 is of great significance for the State and the Federal Elections in Germany.
Prior to the talks, Mr. Vu Xuan Hong, President of the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations, received the German SPD delegation. Mr. Vu Xuan Hong welcomed the delegation’s visit to Vietnam and provision of information about the political situations of the Federal Republic of Germany before the Federal Election. He hoped that the German’s upcoming election will have good results and the bilateral relations between Vietnam and Germany will further develop./.
