Friends of Project RENEW Continues Supporting War Consequence Remediation Efforts in Viet Nam

Representatives of Friends of Project RENEW (FPR) affirmed their commitment to mobilizing additional resources to sustain and expand the organization's activities in Viet Nam, while strengthening cooperation in areas such as mine action and the application of science and technology to humanitarian work.

On July 10, 2026, in Hanoi, President of the Viet Nam Union of Friendship Organizations (VUFO) Phan Anh Son received Bob Frank, President of Friends of Project RENEW (FPR).

During the meeting, President Phan Anh Son briefed FPR on Viet Nam's "500-day and night campaign to intensify the search, recovery, and identification of fallen soldiers' remains," which is currently being implemented nationwide by ministries, sectors, and local authorities.

Commending FPR's valuable contributions to war consequence remediation efforts in Viet Nam over the years, Phan Anh Son expressed his hope that the two sides would further strengthen coordination and enhance connections with organizations and individuals interested in supporting Viet Nam, thereby mobilizing additional resources for humanitarian projects.

He also proposed expanding the dissemination of information about the war consequence remediation projects that FPR has effectively implemented in Viet Nam, helping to promote the positive values of humanitarian cooperation between the two countries.

According to Phan Anh Son, VUFO will continue working closely with relevant Vietnamese agencies and foreign non-governmental organizations (NGOs) to improve the effectiveness of war consequence remediation programs while expanding cooperation between NGOs and Vietnamese partners.

In the coming period, FPR will strengthen cooperation in areas such as mine clearance and the application of science and technology to support humanitarian activities.
