Recently, Vietnam - Bulgarian Friendship Association of the northern city of Hai Phong (the association) held a congress for the term 2023-2028.
In the new term, the association determined to continue promoting its bridging function, actively participating in promotion activities, economic, cultural, and social exchanges, and cooperation.
The Hai Phong's Vietnam - Bulgaria Friendship Association was established in 2000. After more than 20 years of establishment and development, the association has maintained traditional activities and celebrated important Bulgarian holidays. Simultaneously promoting Vietnam's image with friends from Bulgaria and other countries, and assisting the sending of Vietnamese students to Bulgaria to study.

According to the report at the congress, in the 2018-2023 term, Hai Phong's Vietnam - Bulgaria Friendship Association has had many practical and effective activities to enhance understanding and friendship between the two peoples. as well as organizations and partners of Bulgaria with Hai Phong.
The association's activities have positively contributed to the overall achievements in people-to-people diplomacy of the Hai Phong Union of Friendship Organizations.
In particular, in 2021, the Association actively promoted and connected two Kindergartens 1/6 at Le Chan district and Kindergarten No. 200 at Lyulin district of Sofia city to sign the agreement. in the period 2021-2025.
Promoting the achieved results, for the term 2023-2028, the Association focuses on promoting connectivity, actively participating in promotion activities, economic, cultural, and social cooperation exchanges, enhancing its function as a bridge, providing information and consulting for Vietnamese and Bulgarian businesses seeking trade promotion and investment cooperation, and at the same time boosting cultural exchange and people-to-people activities in Hai Phong city.
The Congress elected the Executive Committee for the term 2023-2028, consisting of 21 members. Hoang Van Sanh was elected to hold the position of chairman of Hai Phong's Vietnam - Bulgaria Friendship Association for the new term.
On this occasion, two individuals were awarded the medal, and one collective was awarded the certificate of merit from the Viet Nam Union of Friendship Organizations; two groups and four individuals were awarded certificates of merit by the Chairman of the Hai Phong City People's Committee.
Meanwhile, three groups and four individuals received the certificate of merit from Hai Phong's Vietnam - Bulgaria Friendship Association; three groups and 11 individuals received the certificate of merit from the Chairman of the Hai Phong Union of Friendship Organizations.
