Secretary of State Antony Blinken, on behalf of the US Government, has cabled a message of congratulations to Vietnam on the 77th anniversary of its National Day (September 2).

"On behalf of the United States of America, I offer my best wishes and congratulations to the people of Vietnam on your National Day on September 2."
In his message, Blinken noted that both “the US and Vietnam have achieved so much together to advance our shared priorities on regional security, prosperity, combatting climate change, addressing global health challenges, and strengthening people-to-people ties.”
The US diplomat expressed his wish to continue to work together with the Government and people of Vietnam “to bring prosperity, peace, and stability to both of our nations and the Indo-Pacific region”.
The two countries held the ninth US - Vietnam Asia-Pacific Dialogue in Washington DC on August 30 co-chaired by Assistant Secretary of State for East Asian and Pacific Affairs Daniel Kritenbrink and Vietnamese Deputy Foreign Minister Nguyen Minh Vu, according to VOV.
Both sides discussed issues related to the two countries’ shared interest in promoting peace, stability, and prosperity across the region. They affirmed the importance of continued senior-level engagement between Vietnam and the US and looked forward to celebrating the 10th anniversary of their Comprehensive Partnership in 2023. They agreed to convene their 10th Asia-Pacific Dialogue in Vietnam in 2023.
They deeply thanked Vietnam for the great, timely and effective assistance, and vowed to continue to work with Vietnam to preserve and cultivate the long lasting relationship between the two countries. At the same time, they affirmed that under any circumstances, Laos will continue to stand side by side with Vietnam to preserve and cement this rare relationship.

President Xi Jinping and other leaders of China sent congratulatory messages and affirmed that they attach great importance to the development of the relations between the two parties and states. They said they would look forward to constantly consolidating the traditional friendship with Vietnam and constantly creating new impetus for the development of comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership between the two countries.
President Vladimir Putin and other Russian leaders lauded Vietnam’s achievements in socio-economic development and international integration, affirming the traditional friendship and comprehensive strategic partnership between Vietnam and Russia would continue to be strengthened in all fields, especially in economy - trade, science – technology with potential projects to be implemented by both sides.
In their messages, leader Kim Jong-un and Prime Minister Kim Tok-hun of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea expressed their belief that the traditional friendship between the two parties and the two countries would continue to develop further in the coming time.
In his congratulatory message, Indian President Droupadi Murmu noted that the current comprehensive strategic partnership between India and Vietnam has been built on high trust, deep mutual understanding and shared values and interests. He expressed his wish to further strengthen the friendly relationship between the two countries, especially when they are both celebrating 50 years of diplomatic relations this year.

Abroad, the Lao ambassadors to France, Thailand, Australia, and Germany also visited the Vietnamese embassies in the three countries to offer congratulations on the 77th National Day of Vietnam.
In Russia, Lao Deputy Ambassador Vongvilay Thiphalangsy has offered his best wishes to the Party, State and people of Vietnam during his visit to the Vietnamese embassy, VNA reported Tuesday.
On this occasion, international agencies and friends also sent congratulatory letters on National Day to the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations.
