The issue was discussed in a meeting held in Phnom Penh on March 29. In particular, the association decided to keep track of guidelines and policies regarding nationality registration of the Cambodian Government.
The association will also consolidate its executive and standing boards in line with its new regulations.
Speaking at the meeting, Lai Xuan Chien, representative from the Vietnamese Embassy in Cambodia, lauded progress made by the association in the field of human resources development, culture and education.
At the meeting, President of the association, Chau Van Chi also reviewed the operation of the association in 2018, and the situation of Vietnamese Cambodians, emphasising difficulties facing those living along the Mekong Delta and the Tonle Sap Lake.
The Khmer-Vietnam Association, based in Phnom Penh, Cambodia works to bring together Khmer people of Vietnamese origin and other Vietnamese in Cambodia for humanitarian work and to spread information about the law./.
