Ambassador Nguyen Tam Chien, President of the Vietnam-USA Society, received Mrs. Jerilyn Brusseau, the founder of PTVN.
In the morning of January 6 at the headquarters of the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations (VUFO), Ambassador Nguyen Tam Chien, President of the Vietnam-USA Society had a meeting with the PTVN delegation, led by Mrs. Jerilyn Brusseau.
At the meeting, Ambassador Nguyen Tam Chien briefed PTVN delegation on the major foreign affairs activities of VUFO and the Vietnam – USA Society in 2020, including the 25th anniversary of Vietnam – US relations.
On this occasion, Ambassador Nguyen Tam Chien proposed PTVN to jointly organize a number of friendly exchange such as writing books, photo exhibitions, performing arts, and making a film about Vietnam – US relations.
Besides, Ambassador Nguyen Tam Chien also expressed his wish that PTVN would play the role of a bridge between two sides, to bring more American students to Vietnam to learn about the country’s culture and people. According to the Ambassador, the younger generation is the ones who hold the future. Therefore, he hopes that the younger generation of the two sides will become more and more knowledgeable about each other, to keep writing the beautiful story between Vietnam and the United States.
Referring to PTVN’s 25-year operation in Vietnam and also 25 years of Vietnam – US normalization of diplomatic relations, Mrs.Jerilyn Bresseau called this a miracle. "The miracle is that the two countries have achieved friendship and peace, with trust being the core of the relationship," Mrs. Jerilyn Bresseau said.
Mrs. Jerilyn Brusseau also said she was very happy that during PTVN’s operation in Vietnam, it has always gained the trust of the country. She was grateful for the openness and friendliness of the Vietnamese people, which has created trust between the two sides.
The founder of PTVN expressed her desire to be a good partner of VUFO and the Vietnam – USA Society. She said people-to-people diplomacy is the foundation of PTVN. Therefore, she is willing to become a bridge for people of the two countries to come closer to each other.
