The Embassy of the Russian Federation in Vietnam held a celebration event on June 9 while the next day another ceremony was hosted by the Consulate General of the Russian Federation in Ho Chi Minh City (HCMC).
In Hanoi, representing the Russian side is the Ambassador of the Russian Federation to Vietnam Gennady Bezdetko. The guests from the Vietnamese side were Minister of Transport Nguyen Van Thang, together with a number of ministry leaders.
Ambassador Gennady Bezdetko said that, over the years, the good traditional friendship between the two countries is being increasingly cultivated and developed, especially in economic, trade, logistic and transportation cooperation.

The Russian side supports deepening and improving efficiency in inter-local relations through the restoration of direct flights between Russia and Vietnam.
He added that Saint-Petersburg will hold many events to celebrate the 100th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh's arrival in Petrograd in this month of June. The big celebration is also a testament to the traditional friendship between the two countries.
Attending the ceremony, Minister of Transport Nguyen Van Thang said that even in the midst of the pandemic, the relationship between Vietnam and Russia still developed stably. Thang believed that in the coming time, the two countries will continue to continue to promote a comprehensive strategic partnership for the benefit of the two peoples, for peace and development in the region and in the world.
He also stressed that the traditional and close cooperation relationship in many fields will be bolstered by generations to come.
At the event organized by the Consulate General of the Russian Federation in HCMC on June 10, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of HCMC Vuong Anh Duc stressed that Vietnamese people always remember the great support and comprehensive assistance of the Soviet people in the process of defending the country, forming socialism as well as building and developing the country after the complete reunification of Vietnam.

Duc believed that the statue of President Ho Chi Minh about to be inaugurated in St. Petersburg, will become a meaningful symbol of the attachment between the two nations. The statute will contribute to strengthening the trust of generations of the two sides, which plays an important role in the future prospects of the Vietnam - Russia Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.
For his part, Consul General of the Russian Federation in HCMC Sadykov Timur Sirozhevich affirmed that he will continue to do his best to develop a cooperative and friendly relationship between Russian partners and Vietnamese localities.
In particular, HCMC has established friendly cooperative relations with 5 Russian localities such as St. Petersburg city, and Moscow city. On the other hand, Russia currently has 58 investment projects in Ho Chi Minh City with a total capital of more than US $56 million.
