Promoting people-to-people exchanges between Vietnamese and Palestinian youth

On November 25 in Hanoi, President of the Viet Nam Union of Friendship Organizations (VUFO) Phan Anh Son received Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates of the State of Palestine Varsen Aghabekian Shahin, on the occasion of her official visit to Vietnam from November 25-27.

During the reception, Minister Varsen Aghabekian Shahin expressed solidarity with the people of Vietnam and extended her deepest condolences to the families affected by recent floods. She expressed her belief that, with resilience and unity, the Vietnamese people will soon overcome these difficulties and restore normal life.

Minister Varsen Aghabekian Shahin emphasized the importance of people-to-people exchanges between the two countries and highly appreciated the efforts of VUFO and its member organizations in supporting the Palestinian people. She noted that the initiatives and solidarity activities carried out by the Vietnamese people are not only recognized domestically but have also resonated in Palestine, helping its people feel the warm and genuine affection from Vietnam.

President Phan Anh Son reaffirmed that VUFO has consistently maintained close cooperation with the Embassy of the State of Palestine in Vietnam through dialogues, exchanges, and joint activities nationwide. He stressed that VUFO stands ready to further strengthen coordination with the Embassy and relevant Palestinian agencies to promote connections, facilitate delegation exchanges, and expand cooperation between the people’s organizations of the two countries.

Both sides agreed that, in the time ahead, people-to-people exchanges and mutual understanding activities should involve representatives from VUFO, the Vietnam Committee for Solidarity with the Palestinian People, as well as teachers and students from foreign language training institutions, especially those teaching Arabic. Such activities are considered practical ways to enhance understanding, encourage youth engagement, and further promote the Vietnam-Palestine friendship.
