Attending the Congress were Mr Nguyen Thai Lai, Deputy Minister of Natural Resource and Environment; Mrs Nguyen Thi Hoang Van, Vice President of the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations; representatives from ministries, central agencies, friendship associations with East European countries, some Vietnamese corporations and companies; VFBA Executive Board and members.
From the Belarus Republic were Mr Valery Sadokho, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Belarus Republic to Vietnam; representatives of Belarus companies in Vietnam and from Belarus Embassy’s staffs.
Mr Nguyen Tuan Phong, VBFA’s Vice Chairman cum General Secretary made report on VBFA’s operations over the past 5 years and orientation for the ternue 2014-2019.
During the last ternue, VBFA made great effort in organizing activities to boost the traditional friendship relation and comprehensive cooperation between the two countries.
The Congress elected 34 - Member Executive Board for the 2014-2019 tenure. Mr Nguyen Thai Lai, Deputy Minister of Natural Resource and Environment, was elected VBFA’s Chairman.
Addressing at the Congress, Mrs Nguyen Thi Hoang appraised VBFA’s efforts in promoting peace, solidarity and friendship between the two countries. She expected VBFA has an action plan to implement the Resolutions of the 5th VUFO National Congress and VBFA’s 3rd National Congress; proactively expands relationship to new friends and partners; attach VBFA’s operation to promotion of cooperation in all fields; attract more new members...
Ambassador Valery Sadokho highly appreciated VBFA’s achievements and congratulated the new VBFA Executive Board. He expected VBFA will work closely with the Belarus Embassy to promote the friendship and cooperation between the two peoples.
On behalf of VUFO leaders, Mrs Van presented VBFA the laudatory writing “The Vietnam - Belarus Frienship Association with excellent achievements in people-to-people diplomacy in the 2008-2014 tenure”; 4 medals “For the Peace and Friendship among Nations” and 05 Certificate of Merit to outstanding members.
The 3rd VBFA National Congress for the 2014-2019 tenure was successfully organized.
