Promoting operation of Afro-Asian-Latin American Solidarity and Cooperation Committee in the 2013-2018 period
The Presidium of the Vietnam Committee for Afro-Asian-Latin American Solidarity and Cooperation held a meeting to review its operation since 2013 and discuss action plan for the 2013-2018 period on April 15, 2014 in Hanoi.
The meeting, chaired by Mr. Pham Van Chuong, President of the Committee, was attended by members of the Presidium.
According to the review presented at the meeting, the Committee has significantly contributed to the activities of the Afro-Asian People’s Solidarity Organization (AAPSO) and to solidarity movements in Africa, Asia, and Latin America in general.
The Vietnam Committee for Afro-Asian-Latin American Solidarity and Cooperation is considered as one of the most active members of AAPSO in Asia, which has actively taken part in such multilateral forums as the ASEAN People’s Forum (APF) as well as other peace, friendship and cooperation activities.
Since the beginning of the 2013-2018 tenure, the Committee has paid much attention to researches and communication of its activities through the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations’ media.
In the current context on international integration, the Committee will focus on enhance research activities, information exchange with APPSO Secretariat and other partners. It will also promote training for its young staff; actively participate in international mechanisms, people’s forums and organizations, to which it is affiliated; and further develop its partnership with international NGOs.
All participants came to an agreement with the review and made discussion on its orientations for the improvement of effectiveness of the Committee’s operation in the coming time.
