(Vietpeace) The Vietnam - India Friendship Association (VIFA) and the Embassy of India jointly held a meeting to introduce Yoga and Henna art at VUFO’s headquaters on March 6, 2014.
This was a part of Festival of India held in Vietnam for the first time by the Embassy of India, Indian Ministry of Culture in coordination with the Ministry of Culture, Sport and Tousism of Vietnam.
The meeting saw the presence of Mr. Vu Quang Diem, former Vietnamese Ambassador to India, VIFA Vice Chairman; representatives from departments of VUFO; VIFA members and students of universities in Hanoi.
The introduction was done by Dr. B.V. Rao and Dr. Divya, Yoga teachers, and Leena Garg, Henna artist.
At the meeting, Mr. Vu Quang Diem acclaimed Indian representatives for their introduction of Yoga and Henna art.
“This is an opportunity for Vietnamese people to have better understanding of Yoga as well as Henna art. It is also a good chance for cultural exchange and promotion of the friendship between the two countries”, Mr Diem said.
Indian representatives expressed their delight to visit Vietnam and VUFO in the framework of the first Festival of India in Vietnam.
During the meeting, Yoga teachers gave lectures and demonstrations of Yoga basic movements. Artist Leena Garg drew Henna on the participants’hands.
The first Festival of India was organized in Hanoi, Da nang and Ho Chi Minh City with 4 main events: Buddhist Festival, Classical Dance Festival, Food and Mehedi Festival, and Yoga. Indian Festival started on 5th March and finished on 15th March 2014.
