VUFO Grants Highest Medal for Chilean Ambassador to Vietnam

Ambassador Nguyen Phuong Nga, President of the Viet Nam Union of Friendship Organizations (VUFO) granted a "For peace and friendship among nations" medal to Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Chile to Vietnam Patricio Becker on Dec. 2, in Hanoi. The medal honors Becker's contributions to consolidating and promoting Vietnam - Chile's bilateral relations.

In her remark, Ambassador Nguyen Phuong Nga said, during his working term in Vietnam, Patricio Becker promoted positive relations between the two countries in many fields. He has prolonged the solidarity, traditional and friendly relation between the two peoples.

Ambassador Patricio Becker contributed to organizing the fourth session of the Vietnam - Chile Free Trade Council in May 2021 and participated in the Pacific Alliance: Cooperation and Development in November 2021. The Chilean ambassador has supported many business delegations that come to Vietnam to seek cooperation opportunities.

Ambassador Patricio Becker has worked tirelessly to promote cultural exchanges and enhance understanding between the peoples of Vietnam and Chile. With his support, VUFO and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs held a friendship meeting on the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Chile on December 20, 2021.

Expressing his honor to receive VUFO's noble award, Ambassador Becker thanked VUFO and Vietnam - Chile Friendship and Cooperation Association for their support during his tenure.

Over the past time, Vietnam and Chile have witnessed positive developments in agricultural cooperation and high-level exchanges. Regardless of his position, Becker would devote himself to promoting the two countries' relations in depth and in breadth, especially in agriculture and import-export.
