During an official visit to the Czech Republic from November 13-16, 2024, at the invitation of Czech Prime Minister Petr Fiala, Vice President Vo Thi Anh Xuan met with Jaroslav Vitek, vice president of the Czech-Viet Nam Friendship Association, on the afternoon of November 13, 2024, in Prague.
Vice President Vo Thi Anh Xuan expressed her pleasure at meeting the Vice President of the Czech-Viet Nam Friendship Association during her official visit to the Czech Republic.
The Vice President affirmed that the Vietnamese people always deeply value the heartfelt support and invaluable assistance provided by the Czech people, both during Viet Nam's struggle for independence and reunification in the past, and in its current efforts toward national development. In Viet Nam, there are still many symbolic projects representing the solidarity and friendship between Viet Nam and the Czech Republic, such as the Viet Nam-Czechoslovakia Friendship Hospital, the Viet Nam-Czechoslovakia Friendship Cultural Palace, the Hanoi Children's Cultural Palace, and the Viet Nam-Czechoslovakia Lock Factory.

On this occasion, the Vice President informed the Vice President of the Czech-Viet Nam Friendship Association and Czech friends about Viet Nam's achievements in economic and social development and international integration. She emphasized that the delegation’s visit aims to further strengthen the traditional friendship between Viet Nam and the Czech Republic across various fields, from politics and diplomacy to trade and investment, and to deepen the bond between the two nations.
The Vice President also appreciated the role of the Czech-Viet Nam Friendship Association in promoting exchanges and connections between the peoples of the two countries. She affirmed that the Vietnamese government always supports and facilitates the activities of the Czech-Viet Nam Friendship Association in standing alongside the Vietnamese people.

Vice President Jaroslav Vitek emphasized that the official visit of Vice President Vo Thi Anh Xuan to the Czech Republic, along with visits by leaders from both countries, is significant in promoting bilateral cooperation. He expressed confidence that her visit would make a practical contribution to nurturing the good traditional friendship between Viet Nam and the Czech Republic.
The Vice President of the Czech-Viet Nam Friendship Association reviewed important milestones in the history of the two countries' relations since the establishment of diplomatic relations in 1950. He expressed admiration for Viet Nam’s remarkable progress in various fields and noted that the Association has been active for 27 years.
The Association has closely coordinated with the Vietnamese Embassy in the Czech Republic, Vietnamese community associations in the Czech Republic, and the Viet Nam-Czech Friendship Association to enhance the two countries' relations broadly and foster specific cooperation among ministries, localities, and businesses of both countries. Notably, it advocated for the Czech government’s recognition of the Vietnamese community as an ethnic minority within the Czech Republic.
Jaroslav Vitek proposed that Viet Nam and the Czech Republic work together to boost tourism cooperation and exchanges, helping the people of both countries better understand each other’s lands, people, and cultures. He affirmed that the Czech-Viet Nam Friendship Association would do its utmost to contribute to Viet Nam’s development and the strengthening of relations between the two nations.
