At the congress, delegates listened to a report on results of the 2013-2019 tenure, and the association’s plan and key tasks for the 2019-2024 tenure.
At the congress
In the next tenure, the association will continue to innovate leadership methods and its operation, focus on developing Vietnam-Italy relations, and expand cooperation with its partners in Italy to promote people-to-people exchange between the two countries.
The congress elected a new executive board with 32 members and Assoc. Prof., Dr. Bui Nhat Quang, alternate member of the Party Central Committee, Vice President of the Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences as President of the association in the new term.
Speaking at the event, Chairwoman of VUFO Nguyen Phuong Nga stated that the working orientations and tasks set by the congress were closely in line with the Party’s guidelines on people-to-people external affairs in the current context. She also believed that the association will gain new outstanding achievements in the time to come, thus contributing to strengthening and promoting the Vietnam - Italy ties.
