The Chairman Vu Mao said that after a period of implementation, the awareness on the movement "Nurturing the seeds of friendship" has been raised. The VUFO, relevant ministries and agencies have expressed major concern and supported the movement. The Vietnam - Cambodia Friendship Association and local agencies have also positively taken part in the program. Leaders of the two countries highly appreciated and supported the movement.
According to the Chairman Vu Mao, the movement was originally held in Hanoi, then in Thai Binh and now thrives in the southern region. At present, the movement has been developed extensively, strongly, and has various forms such as taking care (businesses, pagodas, grassroots organizations sponsor a group of students) or exchanges of former experts, former Vietnam Military Volunteers in Cambodia, visiting cultural and historical relics ...

All families treat Cambodian students as their children or relatives, always try to understand their thoughts and aspirations and establish a connection between them and families. That is the premise of the cohesion between the two peoples, contributing to the friendship between Vietnam and Cambodia.
In his remarks, the Chargé D’Affaires of Embassy of Cambodia in Vietnam Op Sophy said that the governments of Vietnam and Cambodia, as well as the leaders of the Party, State, and People of the two countries, have a good relationship, developed from the friendship of the two countries, who cooperate in all aspects, including politics, economy, trade, education, and culture...
Mr. Op Sophy highly appreciated the role of the Chairman Vu Mao and the Vietnam-Cambodia Friendship Association in promoting the friendly relationship between Vietnamese and Cambodian as well as between the Party and the State of the two countries.

According to Mr. Op Sophy, the program "Nurturing the seeds of friendship" has enormously helped Cambodian students in Vietnam to seize the opportunity to learn the language, study ethics, culture, traditions and life of Vietnamese people.
Mr. Op Sophy emphasized the bilateral cooperation between Vietnam and Cambodia in some areas such as economy, trade, education, culture, and national defense and security. The cooperation has produced a lot of positives result and has become a great concern between the Royal Government of Cambodia, the Government of Vietnam and the People of the two countries.
Mao Leapheng, a second-year student at the National Economics University, said he is excited to attend the meeting with his Vietnamese father.
He also said that many students are far away from home, so they are still not familiar with the educational and living environment in Vietnam. Being sponsored by Vietnamese parents, they will have many opportunities to practice Vietnamese, learn about the customs of Vietnam and especially feel the love and warmth of families, get over homesickness. Particularly, this will be a great encouragement to help children achieve better academic results.
Mao Leapheng expressed profound emotion about that many of their Vietnamese parents are former volunteer soldiers, former experts from the period of 1979-1989, came to help Cambodian people and save the country from Cambodian genocide, including their families. Now they become parents and help them study in the beloved country of Vietnam.
Sharing at the meeting, Ambassador Nguyen Phuong Nga, President of VUFO, emphasized that this is one of the most meaningful activities that the VUFO cooperates with Vietnam - Cambodia Friendship Association to organize in recent years.
