Attending the Congress were Mrs. Vo Thi Thanh Nga, President of the Can Tho Union of Friendship Organizations (CUFO); Dr. Nguyen Thi Thu Thuy, Chairman of the Can Tho Vietnam – Russia Friendship Association and about 20 CVRFA’s members.
Addressing at the Convention, Dr. Nguyen Thi Thu Thuy reviewed CVRFA’s operations in the last tenure and proposed an action plan for the next tenure.
In the last tenure, CVRFA has organized various activities in the field of peace, friendship and cooperation.
With the results achieved during the term, many groups and individuals of CVRFA were awarded Certificates of Merit and medals For peace and friendship among nations Participants made discussions on the direction and action plans for the next tenure and also contributed ideas and suggestions to the documents of the City Union’s Congress.
On behalf of CUFO, Mrs. Vo Thi Thanh Nga highly appreciated the outcomes of VRFA’s activities. She hoped that CVRFA continues to increase its members; closely associate its operation with those of the Central and other provincial association; maintain good relation with the Russia Consulate General in Ho Chi Minh City; enhance its external information activities; make good preparation for the celebration of the 100th anniversary of the October Revolution in 2017.
The Convention elected a 9 - member CVRFA Executive Committee and Dr. Nguyen Thi Thu Thuy was re-elected CVRFA’s Chairman for the next tenure./.
