Dong Nai province’s Union of Friendship Organizations recently held the 12th Executive Committee Conference for 2013 – 2018 tenure to review the result of tasks’ implementation in the first half of 2019, set plan to carry out key tasks of the second half of 2019 and prepare for the 2nd Congress tenure 2019 – 2024.
In the first half of 2019, Dong Nai province Union of Friendship Organizations effectively implemented diplomatic tasks, particularly assisting the provincial People’s Committee in enacting the 2019 people – to – people diplomacy action program, guiding member organizations and holding 8 people – to – people diplomacy events which attracted thousands of participants. Those events made great impression on international friends. Via these activities, Dong Nai province Union of Friendship Organizations have contributed to promoting understanding, maintaining peace and stability and the development of Dong Nai province in particular and Vietnam in general.

In more details, Dong Nai province’s Union of Friendship Organizations was proactive to organize working trips for its delegation to mobilize aid as well as holding meeting with foreign NGOs in 2019.Thanks to the effort, in the first half of 2019, a total number of 16 foreign NGOs have implemented 23 projects and sponsored USD 2.4 million (VND 55 billion) for Dong Nai province. The fund was received and later used in accordance with law, in order to improve the living standard of people in disadvantaged areas.
In the conference, members of the Executive Committee of Dong Nai province’s Union of Friendship Organizations also discussed and proposed 6 tasks for the second half of 2019. Accordingly, Dong Nai province’s chapter will focus on preparing for the 2nd Congress of the Union tenure 2019-2014, organizing political, diplomatic events as part of the 2019 people – to – people diplomacy program of the provincial People’s Committee and launching training courses for officers and reinforcing relations with foreign NGOs to attract investment.
