(Vietpeace) In the evening of May 12, a friendship meeting with delegations of the Laos – Vietnam Friendship Association (LVFA) and the Cambodia – Vietnam Friendship Association (CVFA) was held in Hanoi by the Hanoi Union of Friendship Organizations (HAUFO).
The meeting were attended by Mr. Nguyen Van My, Director-General of VUFO Asia - Africa Department; Mr. Dao Van Binh, HAUFO Chairman; representatives of the Party Committee, People’s Committee, Fatherland Front of Hanoi City; leaders of the Friendship Associations with Laos and Cambodia at the central and local level.
Speaking the meeting, Mr. Dao Van Binh affirmed that the neighboring relationship between Vietnam, Laos and Cambodia has been long cultivated and further strengthened, especially in the recent years as the economic relations have witnessed good developments.
Mr. Binh also called on ASEAN countries and other countries in the world, particularly Laos and Cambodia - the two fraternal countries to raise their voices to protest against China’s serious violation of Vietnam’s exclusive economic zone and continental shelf; the 1982 United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS) and to support Vietnam‘s legal and legitimate requests for its national sovereignty and legitimate interest in accordance with international law.
General of the Army Chao Phally, head of Cambodian delegation and Major General Phouvong Vong phom, head of Laos delegation appreciated the friendly relationship and achiements gained during the process of cooperation and development between Vietnam, Laos and Cambodia for the last years; affirmed their supports to Vietnam in the protection of its national sovereignty and territory, as well as security, peace and stability in the East Sea.
The meeting ended with the cultural performance in the atmosphere imbued with fraternal friendship.
