Lao Consul General in Ho Chi Minh City Phimpha Keomixay on August 22 was awarded the insignia “For peace and friendship among nations” of the Viet Nam Union of Friendship Organisations (VUFO).
The insignia is to honor her contributions to the cause of peace, friendship, cooperation, and development.
Addressing the ceremony, the President of the Ho Chi Minh City Union of Friendship Organisations (HUFO) Do Viet Ha emphasized the solidarity and friendship between Vietnam and Laos.
The traditional relationship has been consolidated by generations of Party and State leaders and people of the two countries, becoming an invaluable asset shared by the two peoples, he continued.
The Consul General has played an active role in strengthening the traditional solidarity, friendship, and cooperation between Vietnamese and the city's residents in particular and Lao people through various practical activities in such areas as economy-trade, culture-sports, health care, and education, among others, Ha said.

He expressed a hope that the diplomat will carry out more activities to further intensify the fraternity between HCM City residents Vietnamese in general, and Lao people.
Keomixay noted her honor to receive the insignia and thanked local leaders, departments, agencies, and HUFO for their close cooperation, coordination, and assistance.
The Consul General pledged that in any position, she would try her best to strengthen the good friendship and close ties between Lao people and their Vietnamese counterparts, including HCM City residents./.
